International Human Rights Consortium Releases First Part of Educational SDG Song Volume

World Musicians Unite to Promote UN Sustainable Development Goals through Music

United Nations in New York City and Worldwide, Friday, September 27th, 2024 — International Human Rights Consortium (IHRC) proudly announces the release of the first part of its Educational SDG Song Volume, a groundbreaking musical project aimed at raising awareness and promoting action around the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This release coincides with IHRC’s participation in the Arts for the Future Festival in New York City, held in parallel to the UN Summit of the Future & General Assembly, where global leaders and stakeholders gathered to advance a more sustainable, equitable, and peaceful future to reinvigorate global commitments to multilateral action for present and future generations.

The first part of the volume features tracks by IHRC board members who have each aligned their music with specific SDGs:

- ‘Respire’ by Timothy Trujillo Founder of First Medicines focusing on SDG #3: Good Health and Well-being

- ‘Flow Invitation’ by Khrystoph Smalling focusing on SDG #6: Clean Water and Sanitation

- ‘Education’ by Victor (Benjamin Pulgar-Guzman) focusing on SDG #4: Quality Education

- ‘Peace is Possible’ by Proxevita (Laura Carisa Gardea) focusing on SDG #16: Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions

The complete volume, to be released in stages, will feature an array of world musicians contributing their voices and talent to each of the 17 SDGs, creating a rich and immersive cultural experience. This project serves as both a musical celebration and an educational tool for individuals, educators, and organizations working to promote the SDGs.
